The Eyes of My Beholder

In the eyes of my beholder

I am beautifully and wonderfully made.

In the eyes of my beholder

I have a love that time can’t break.

He has planned each of my days.

Then walks beside me

to guide me in His ways.

I don’t fear abandonment.

Not even in great discouragement.

Nor, times when I have turned from Him.

Sometimes I try to trudge my own path,

but He waits constantly calling me back.

Back to His side where times still can get rough.

But I live in a peace,

and an unwavering trust.

He has seen every blemish,

every mistake, every fault.

He was right beside me

when I was hoping no one was watching at all.

I feel an ache in my heart

that I know is from Him.

Saying, daughter don’t keep coveting this sin.

I drop to my knees

in tears and shame.

He reaches out to me,

and I can clearly see

the scars on His hands.

That reminds me of His great plan.

He lifts me to my feet again,

but I drop back down in front of Him.

This time not in grief or shame,

but in worship to His great name.

In the eyes of my beholder

what He sees in me no single word would suffice.

But He clearly showed me that

I was worth the greatest sacrifice.

Twas the Night Before Jesus

Twas the night before Jesus -and all through the house
not a creature was praying- not one in the house.

Their Bibles were lying all closed on the shelf.
Everyone was just into their own self.
The children were dressing to get into bed -
Not once ever kneeling or bowing their heads,

And mom on the sofa with baby on her lap,
was watching TV while I took a nap.
When outside the house there arose such a clatter
-I got to my feet to see what was the matter.

To the window I flew in a hurried flash,
opened the shutter, threw up the sash,
when to my surprise what should appear,
but angels proclaiming that Jesus was here!

With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
-I knew in a moment this must be the day!!

The light of His face made me cover my head,
it was Jesus' returning just like he said.
Though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth
- I cr1ed when I saw Him, in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life, which He held in His hand
- was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name,
then He said, “it’s not in there" my head, hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love,
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without Sound,
while the rest of us were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but I was too late,
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight,
if only I had been ready tonight.

The words of this poem - and the meaning is clear
- the coming of Jesus is drawing near!
We have only one life and when comes the last call,
we’ll find that the Bible was true after all!

Sin

SIN offers smile but brings tears;
SIN offers peace peace but brings fears;
SIN offers health but sickness brings;
SIN offers songs but never sings;
SIN offers doves but ravens come;
SIN offers heaven but hell is its home;
SIN offers sun but always brings clouds;
SIN offers light but brings darkness;
SIN offers freedom as a friend but slavery is its bitter end.

You Are Not An Accident

You are who you are for a reason.
You're part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're just what he wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God's plan in mind,
And they bear the Master's seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow.

You are who you are for a reason,
You've been formed by the Master's rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God.
